Custodian - PART TIME

The City of Hampton has a Custodian position available. This position is responsible for the cleaning of City facilities, including but not limited to, City Hall, the Train Depot and the Police Department. Duties include the routine and regular cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of floors. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A valid driver’s license is also required. The City is a Drug-Free Environment, Equal Opportunity Employer, and participates in E-Verify. City Manager

Annual Salary: $67,449.44 - $89,932.59 (negotiable)

The City of Hampton is accepting applications for the position of City Manager. This is a high-level executive management position that is responsible for directing and supervising the operations of the City of Hampton. Work involves managing and supervising all departments of the City to achieve goals using available resources. Responsibilities include preparing the annual budget, providing leadership and direction of the development of short and long range plans, advising the Mayor and City Council of financial conditions and current and future needs of the City, and monitoring and ensuring compliance with state/federal regulations. The work consists of a variety of highly administrative, technical and supervisory duties. Work is performed based on policy directive of the Mayor and City Council. 

Major duties of the City Manager include, but are not limited to:

• Assigning priorities and objectives to department heads and professional staff.

• Prepare a variety of studies, reports, and related information for decision making purposes.

• Ensures that all operations are performed according to the City’s policies, procedures and ordinances as well as according to Federal, State, and local laws.

• Determines work procedures, evaluates work flow and process, and expedites workflow.

• Attends all City Council meetings.

• Attends local, regional, and state meetings regarding policies and issues that impact the City.

• Serves as a liaison to City Boards and communicates directives and addresses issues of City Council.

Minimum Requirements in order to qualify for this position are:

• Master’s Degree in Public Administration or related field.

• Twelve years of progressively responsible experience in local government, related field;

• Or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

The City of Hampton is hiring for a position on our Street Department. High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, one year related experience preferred and a valid driver’s license.
