The Main Street Program consists of four committees with one vision. Our local Main Street program is designed to organize activities within the heart of Hampton to promote revitalization and a vibrant downtown district while utilizing the 4 - Point Approach of the National Main Street Program. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the historic charm and integrity of the community.
- Promotions Committee: Our goal is to provide Hampton with the ultimate experience through awesome festivals, arts, entertainment and value for our residents and visitors.
- Economic Vitality Committee: Our mission is to convert empty spaces into productive property, to help stimulate downtown growth through increased business retention and expansion.
- Organization: Our Board of Directors leads the Main Street mission to revitalize downtown through programs, events, and initiatives that seek to increase our quality of life, support small business, encourage tourism, preserve our historic assets, and so much more.
- Design Committee: Our mission is to create an inviting, aesthetically appealing and safe Main Street Program area environment.
The state-wide Main Street Program is overseen by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The Hampton Main Street Program works closely with the Hampton Downtown Development Authority and the Hampton Historic Preservation Commission to develop a vision and an action plan for the revitalization of the Main Street District.
